Traveling to Fribourg/Freiburg from abroad:
If you arrive at the airport of Geneva, you have to take the train (Intercity) Geneva-Lausanne-Fribourg-Bern (for train connections see timetables below).
If you arrive at the airport of Zürich, you have to take the train to Bern-Fribourg-Geneva. You may have to change trains in Zürich-Hauptbahnhof and/or Bern (for train connections see timetables below).In case you arrive by car, take exit Fribourg-Sud on the highway Zürich-Bern-Fribourg-Geneva (see map above).
How to find the place once you are in Fribourg:
The Faculty of Science with the Mathematics Department resides at the Pérolles-site of the University, which is located south of the train station (about 15 minutes walk: see map above). Warning: there is another part of the University called Miséricorde.
From the railway station you can get to Pérolles by taking Bus number 1 (direction Pérolles/Marly-Gérine), or bus number 7 (direction Cliniques), to bus stop Pérolles-Charmettes. There, you will see the buildings of the Pérolles site of the University (currently under construction).
Bus tickets are available at several automates located at the exit of the train station or at the tpf ticket counter in the train station. A one way ticket to Pérolles is 2.20 francs (enter code 1026), a one day ticket is 6 francs (enter code 0001), and a 3 day ticket is 11 francs (enter code 0003). Warning: Automates do not give change.
