Switzerland is not the typical tropical country, nevertheless the first trypanosomatid
species was discovered in Bern (the capital of Switzerland, no its not Zurich
or Geneva, it lies 30 km east of Fribourg). - Don't believe us? Find the proof

done by Prof. Gustav Valentin in the year 1841.
What about Fribourg? Known for its unique
bilingual community, this quaint little town definitely has its fair share of
picturesque scenes.
